- Candidates should have achieved a minimum of 50% in their higher secondary (10+2) or an equivalent exam. and
- Candidates must possess a valid CRR number from the Rehabilitation Council of India and have completed a D.El.Ed. in Special Education from a Council-recognized institution. Or
- Candidates must have a D.El.Ed. or an equivalent Diploma in Special Education from a Rehabilitation Council of India-recognized institution, along with a valid CRR (Central Rehabilitation Register) number issued by the Council. Or
- Six months of specialized training in the field of cross-disability. Or
- Must have successfully passed the BSSTET Paper I Exam under the Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023.
- Must be a citizen of India.

- Candidates having Graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university.
- A valid CRR (Central Rehabilitation Register) number issued by the Rehabilitation Council of India, along with a B.Ed. in Special Education from an institution recognized by the Council. Or
- A Certificate or Diploma in Special Education along with a B.Ed., considered equivalent to a B.Ed. in Special Education by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), from an RCI-recognized institution, and a valid CRR number issued by the RCI. Or
- Six months of specialized training in the field of cross-disability. Or
- Must have successfully passed the BSSTET Paper I Exam under the Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023.
- Must be a citizen of India.
